Samia Yaba Christina Nkrumah is the Founder and Director of the Kwame Nkrumah Foundation, which aims to promote the vision, ideas and legacy of her late Father, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President. A former Member of Parliament, she is also the first woman to chair a political party in Ghana. Samia is a strong advocate for the political and economic unification of Africa to ensure the continent’s future prosperity and stability. Currently, Samia serves on the Board of Trustees of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a cultural institution located in Alexandria, Egypt, to promote understanding among different cultures, religions and ideologies. Schooled in Egypt and Ghana, Nkrumah obtained a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, in London.
